Before joining Arts Alliance in 2008, Amy worked for four years at LongAcre Partners and previous to that was at Forsyth Barr and First NZ Capital in New Zealand in various support and research roles.

Barbara Brett
Office Manager
An experienced administrator and organiser, Barbara has worked with Arts Alliance since December 1997 and administers their deal flow and exhibition participation, as well as staff, advisors and Portfolio Company gatherings.
Before joining Arts Alliance, Barbara's varied work experience included conference and exhibition management, project management in the tourism, arts, environment and charity fields and marketing/administration.

Greg Carter
Senior Analyst
Greg joined Arts Alliance in October 2011 and works on sourcing and assessing new investment opportunities.
Before joining Arts Alliance, Greg worked in corporate development at Betfair, where he focused on new ventures and corporate strategy projects.
Greg has an MA in experimental psychology and physiology from Oxford University and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association.

Joshua Green
Investment Director
Joshua joined Arts Alliance in August 2003 and is responsible for a variety of analytic, financial and deal making processes for our activities in Europe. Joshua helped to set up Lovefilm where he served as its interim CFO. Joshua previously held the role of Associate Director of Strategic Development for Arts Alliance Media, and in this role, led the financial and business planning for the Digital Cinema initiative, culminating in a successful bid for US$20m of lottery money via the UK Film Council. He continues his involvement here by assisting AAM in raising debt finance for Digital Cinema infrastructure. Joshua has represented Arts Alliance on a number of boards in the portfolio and leads the team's outward focus for new investment together with John Woodward.
Before joining Arts Alliance Joshua was involved in a number of start-up companies as a founder, which followed a background in Intellectual Property and IT Consultancy with PA Consulting Group.
Joshua has an MA from Cambridge (Theoretical Physics) and an MSc from the University of London (Finance).

Thomas Hoegh
Founder and CEO
Thomas focuses on the "user-experience" from a creative, strategic and economic point of view. His background as an artist and businessman forms the core aspect of Arts Alliance's competitive edge.
As an artist, Thomas has directed over 20 major theatre, television and multimedia performance pieces in Norway, Japan and the United States.
Thomas holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in fine arts in theatre from Northwestern University. He sits on the boards of Lovefilm, Kenshoo, Kiala, Daylife and City Screen.

Bruce Leigh
IT Manager
Previously at a multimedia production company, Epic Group, based in Brighton where he lives, Bruce has brought four years of experience of system/network administration as well as a thorough understanding of many multimedia issues and processes to Arts Alliance, since joining in October 1998.
Bruce has a wide range of experience in computing environments and is happy using PCs and Macs as well as NT and UNIX. Prior to this (and his degree) Bruce worked for a ship management company.
Bruce has a BA (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex, which may explain a lot of things (but probably doesn't).

George Mills
Analyst
George joined Arts Alliance in October 2011 and works on the current investment portfolio.
Before joining Arts Alliance, George was Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Bristol where he worked with the technology transfer team and spin-out companies. Subsequently he co-founded an internet start-up focusing on mobile commerce.
George has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol and is a Kauffman Foundation Global Scholar.

Gavin Roberts
Vice President, Finance & Operations
Gavin joined Arts Alliance in October 2008 and shares his time between deal-related activities and internal management processes. Gavin is a chartered accountant with a Masters of Applied Finance and over a decade of experience in professional services.
Gavin spent seven years with Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory and was instrumental in developing the Sydney private equity team, where he was a Principal and worked closely with Ironbridge Capital, and then its sister-fund Bridgepoint Capital when he took a secondment to London in 2005; the secondment did not last, but London did.
Gavin has an MA in Philosophy from University of London (UCL) and when he is not at Arts Alliance or playing with his son, he advances his graduate research in Philosophy of Mind at Birkbeck College.

Oliver Shapleski
Head of Business and Legal Affairs
Oliver joined Arts Alliance in May 2005 and is head of business and legal affairs. Oliver manages Arts Alliance's investment process from identification through to investment by our client funds, as well as restructurings and refinancings.
Before joining Arts Alliance, Oliver was a lawyer at Russell McVeagh and Minter Ellison in New Zealand.
Oliver has bachelors degrees in law and finance from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. He sits on the boards of City Screen and Brainient.

Tina Thomas
PA to Thomas Høegh
Before joining Arts Alliance, Tina was PA for over five years to a Senior Partner in Andersen Corporate Finance. Prior to that she was PA to the Senior Civil Servant leading the privatisations of National Power, Power Gen and British Energy at the Department of Trade & Industry.

John Woodward
Investment Director, and MD Arts Alliance Ltd
John Woodward joined Arts Alliance in November 2010 and he works mainly, but not exclusively, on Arts Alliance’s film related investments ranging from Arts Alliance Media Ltd, Europe’s leading digital cinema services company, through to the Met Film School, the UK’s largest private film academy. Previously John was the Chief Executive Officer of the UK Film Council, the UK Government’s strategic funding body for film between 2000 and 2011. During this period John oversaw investment of more than £150m into more than 900 films including Bend it like Beckham, Bright Star, The Constant Gardener, Gosford Park, Happy-Go-Lucky, In the Loop, The Last King of Scotland, Made in Dagenham, Man on Wire, Red Road, St Trinian’s, This is England, Touching the Void, Vera Drake ,The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Streetdance 3D, The King’s Speech, We Need to Talk about Kevin, and Shame.
Prior to joining the UK Film Council John was Director of the British Film Institute. Before that, as Chief Executive of the Producers' Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT), John set up and ran the most successful and influential trade association in the UK film and television industry, representing the commercial interests of some 1,000 film and television companies.
John is a co-founder of Skillset, the audiovisual industry’s sector skills council and a Fellow of the Royal Television Society and a member of the Video Consultative Council of the British Board of Film Classification.
